obama sworn in today...

there were definitely some amazing scenes today in washington d.c... i was sorry that i didn't get on a plane and head to the nation's capitol just to witness it. i had an overwhelming desire to jump into the reflecting pool near the washington monument during the inauguration concert and yell --"FORRRRREST!!" but i guess it wouldn't be good to start out the new year being dragged away by the secret service! ;D

berkeley also had a big celebration with giant tv's set up on campus --but i didn't get a chance to go... kind of cool, though, how excited people are --despite the financial crisis. i think half the world just wants to say "hasta la vista" to the idiocy of Bush and get on with it... and there was some "boo-ing" that went on when Bush came out during the ceremony. for about half a second i almost felt sorry for him. it can't be easy to walk out into a crowd of 2 million people knowing that 1.9 million think you're a complete ignoramus... but, then i saw his little smirk creep out, and remembered all the awful things he has "accomplished" in 8 horrendous years... and i got over it pretty quick... but, enough about dubya...

hopefully americans are feeling a little hopeful today... we could all use a little hope right about now... go-bama!
